+hzoi Posted January 27, 2012 Share Posted January 27, 2012 To kick off the upcoming Alabama State Parks geocaching challenge (more details here and here), Lakepoint Resort State Park will host a series of event caches over the weekend of April 13-15th. So far three events have been published: a Friday night meet and greet, the Saturday kickoff event for the geocaching challenge, and a CITO event on Sunday morning to wrap up the weekend. Cottages are currently booked, but there are still cabins available, as well as rooms in the lodge and spaces in the campground. Call 1-800-544-5253 to plan your visit. Plus, since Woodnutt has taken the lead on this, maybe Lakepoint Resort will get the same cache-rich treatment as Paul W. Grist State Park and Chewacla State Park. (I'm keeping my fingers crossed!)
