+Simply Paul
Soooo... I was looking at some 'Geocaching on the Telly' YouTube videos and it struck me there are quite a few caches out there hidden specifically for media stories. Either by TV or radio folks, or as part of a newspaper story. I've made a short list of the three I thought of, but I'm sure there are more. Can you help me expand the Bookmark listing? Any help would be... helpful Thanks a lot. Quote Link to comment
+The Blorenges
This is one but it had a short life - Don't know if you're interested in ones that have been archived. Live from Ally Pally MrsB Quote Link to comment
+Simply Paul
Added - thanks for the suggestion, and archived caches are fine, so long as they were set for/by the media for a show or story of some sort. Any more for any more? Quote Link to comment
+Amberel
Added - thanks for the suggestion, and archived caches are fine, so long as they were set for/by the media for a show or story of some sort. Any more for any more? I was FTF on a TerraCache set by Michaela Strachan for CountryFile, is that any good or do you just want Groundspeak caches? If you want it, it is TCDDU and it's called "Michaela's Cache" (very original ) Don't know if this link will work, or even if Groundspeak will want it removed, but try http://www.terracaching.com/viewcache.cgi?C=TCDDU . Most TerraCaches only get a couple of visits a year, but even by TerraCaching standards this is a little visited cache - 2 visits (including mine) in two and a half years! Edited to add that I just spotted it's for a bookmark list, so presumably no good. Rgds, Andy Edited January 22, 2012 by Amberel Quote Link to comment
Izzy and the Lizard King
This is one of three placed by Nick Hallissey for an article in Country Walking magazine four years ago. You would hardly know it though, the listing has been heavily edited! (Originally it included a competition to win a GPSr.) It is on the Long Mynd in Shropshire - fabulous walking country! +nevryan
GC2B48H Blue Barn Box, this one was set by Town102 (our local radio station and from the CO's e-mail address they work there. They don't seem to be a very frequent visitor to the site however. Quote Link to comment
+Simply Paul
Thanks folks I'll get those (the GC.com ones - cheers anyway Amberel) added. You've reminded me of a magazine-hidden one at Rutland Water I found a couple of years ago too. Good work Quote Link to comment

+GAZ
What about Vindolanda & Roman Wall which was set by Moss Trooper on 21/07/2001. This cache was in the magazine "Computeractive", which got a lot of cachers, well, err...... caching......including me! Quote Link to comment
+GAZ
There were a a few of us that appeared on BBC's "Inside Out" in 2003 with Chris Jackson. He then hid one and promoted it when the prog was aired. The cache is Plumb The Depths but nowt is mentioned about it on the cache page Quote Link to comment
+GAZ
There was a local news story, dunno if it went national, about a Dolphin in the harbour at Maryport, here in Cumbria. There is a link to the story on the cache page. Cache is Tribute To Marra The Dolphin Edited to say the cache was nowt to do with the actual news team, so won't qualify? +Simply Paul
I bent the rules for the first one as you're not the only person to mention that cache or the Computeractive article to me, and the second was fine, but as you say, the third isn't really what I'm after. Cheers for them all though! Quote Link to comment
