+team walkingsticks
This is my first visit to the forums so I hope this question/idea hasn't been posted a million times already...Is there a way, or could there be a way to search for other geocachers in your area? Perhaps the ability to search by city or zip code to find like minded people in your area. It would be cool to be able to see a listing of all local/active geocachers nearby. Link to comment
+Patuxent Pirates
There are always the state Geocaching Associations & Societies which are always good places to start! You can usually find that info there. Link to comment
umc
Michigan? Heck, they don't cache in Michigan. There are the regional forums here but I strongly suggest that you head on over to http://www.mi-geocaching.org We have a great group there and can narrow down where you're at and who else is in the area. +briansnat
Well there used to be, until the stats site went away . Try looking at some local caches and its safe to assume that most of the people who are logging them are locals. Also post in your regional GC.COM forum if you want to hook up with area geocachers. +Alamogul
In the "old" days (a few months ago), there was a site that tallied stats based on location, so it was easy to identify local cachers based on finds in your local city. I wish that Geocaching.com would reinstate stats and this great by-product feature. Link to comment
+pwb
Another way to find local cachers is to see who is placing caches in your area and looking at who is finding caches in your area. Usually it is the same people finding local caches first who lkive in the area. That's my idea anyway. Seems to work up in Northern Wisconsin. Link to comment
