garmin pyrenees mapping

Hi, going walking in the Pyrennes in the summer.

 

Anyone know where I can obtain some mapping of the area I can download onto my Garmin Oregan 450 without having to buy mapping for all of France.

 

Any links or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know how good the OSM maps are in this area but may be sufficient. They're free anyway so it won't cost anything to have a look!

 

I'd take a paper map and compass anyway if I was going off the beaten track.

Whilst it won't really help, unless you want to invest in a new GPS, Satmap now have a good range that includes Spanish mapping.

Have used a Satmap for 18 months now and find it brilliant. Great for caching and have used overseas many times. Good screen size and all the features I need.

As others have suggested OSM is a possible solution and funnily enough I also offer OSM maps for the whole of France complete with contours. I've supplied them to a number of customers of mine.
