I've been attending these since I was introduced to them back in 05,05,05 where I drove 100 miles to get to the event at 5:05 am!

....and it was uphill with a headwind both ways!!!!!

You're right! It WAS cold too!

Got my coins! Got my coins! Got my coins! And all the trades I made, and now I have to figure out what is what... all the versions look Gorgeous! Fantastic!

Aw man...I feel left out. Even if they arrive tomorrow, the earliest I will see them is Sunday.

I need names and locations!

5 from left, 2nd down - Auckland, New Zealand.

I didn't know it was at first because none of the coins there match the colours I picked and approved. Now that the coins have arrived I know why... The mint coloured our coin wrong.

I've just now emailed Michael about it, but I know that it's not his fault and there's nothing he'll be able to do with now less than 2 weeks until the event.

Now for the unapologetically "woe is me" portion of this post. This comes after the mint got the colours wrong for our Leap into Caching coin as well. At least that time it was a more subtle mistake. This time a large area that was supposed to be bare copper as been coloured yellow when there was no yellow at all specified on the coin anywhere! :(

I don't know how they can get the colours wrong and different to the artwork they produced. Clearly there is no such thing as quality control measures. Oakcoins: Time to look for a new mint!

Edit: Michael is looking into what they can do, but I know realistically it will not result in having the coins minted correctly and delivered in time for the event, and returning these coins and getting new ones will result in US$200+ in extra shipping.

Have you figured out which ones are which location/event yet?

Sorry, no I have not. Mine (St Joseph, MO) is the first one (on the left) in the second row from the bottom.

Michael

I think that the Michigan coin is in the 3rd row the 4th coin over so if I have your numbering scheme correct it would be 14.

Maybe this will help. Or not. I scanned the 24 coins I have, front & back, and have numbered them 1-24. Find your coin & name it with the number next to it!

Front of Auckland coin. Very happy with how this turned out. No picture of the back because it was minted wrong with a random colour instead of what was on the approved artwork, and I'm very unhappy with it.

Wow! That's gorgeous! Sorry about the other side. I'd love to have one, anyway, if you have any left after your event!

Well, our coins are finally on the move again...they are at the UPS facility 10 miles from home. Looks like they will be here today. Brian and Heather will get to open the box up while I am out of town for a few days.

Ours arrived at the sorting facility (USPS) in San Francisco on Nov. 20th, cleared Customs in Canada on Nov. 25th and were waiting for me at the Post Office in Labrador yesterday (28th) - that's faster than I've received some mail from within the Atlantic provinces!

I agree with steben6's comments. Very pretty though the back is not what you wanted. I would love to have one, too, if you have extra.

Mine were supposed to be here yesterday. I got an "exception" email at 10:30 pm saying that the package had been left behind at the UPS facility!! So now I get to play the waiting game all over again today.

Some of these are really gorgeous. I can't wait to have mine in hand!!

My 'exception' notice has been cleared. Looks like they finally made it to Canada. UPS hasn't posted a delivery date though, so I have no idea when I am getting them. Looks like I should have gone with my first instinct and asked for USPS.

I need names and locations!

Bottom left corner, Iowa- this picture looks way better than the one I pulled out as my personal keeper. But that has been taken up with Michael and it isn't his fault, I don't think the mint can read their own blueprints.
