Benchmark maps

This summer, I plan on making a trip along the Great Allegheny Passage, a series of bike trails from Pittsburgh to Washington D.C. It will be 315 miles in four days.

 

I also thought it would be a good oportunity to log some caches. Using the state maps I was able to pan and identify along the trail, downloading those caches that look to be near the bike trail.

 

Unfortunately, there is not a similar map system for benchmarks. To do that, I must bring up each individual benchmark and look at each benchmark map to see if it's close enough to the trail to be worth saving. Given that these bike trails are along former rail line and the C&O Canal towpath, there are plenty of benchmarks to sift through.

 

My question: what is the likelyhood of programming the website to have the same mapping feature for benchmarks that is available for caches?
