Achievement badges and Belts.

Recommended Posts

Are you thinking of the ones I use in my profile?

These are described at http://www.badgegen.com/,but'>http://www.badgegen.com/,but to display them you need to be using the GSAK program to store your found caches, and then its FindStatsGen macro as well as the BadgeGen macro to create the badges and belts you have earned.

If you just want to see the range of badges and belts that can be awarded to cachers, then http://www.badgegen.com/ is the place to go.

That's the ones. Thank you Chris.

Glad I could help, but on reflection I need to clarify my answer.

The badges are of course not limited to UK use but apply world-wide (I think I'm right in saying that their author is Canadian.) And although I use the BadgeGen macro in conjunction with the FindStatGen macro to create them, I think you could probably just use the BadgeGen macro in GSAK and paste the HTML code for the badges into your Geocaching profile.

You can automate the whole procedure by following the instructions here http://badgegen.com/fsg_integration.html if you are a premium member with GSAK.

I just import a myfinds PQ into GSAK then run a single macro to update all the badges, Findstatgen data and upload them to my profile.

Usually run each time i log a batch of caches, it takes about 2 minutes to update/upload. Longer on first run as needs to import more data.

Thank you for the reply Paul and Ros.

Could you explain what a myfinds pq is and how I get it?

A PQ is a Pocket Query, which allows you to set up automatic searches for caches, and is probably one of the main advantages to being a Premium member.A My finds PQ is a special PQ which will list all caches you've found.

Go to http://www.geocaching.com/pocket/default.aspx, and down near the bottom of the page there's a section headed "My Finds" which contains a button "Add to Queue", press that and within an hour or so the PQ should have run, then on the same page click the "Pocket Queries Ready for Download tab" near the top, then click the link to the "My Finds Pocket Query" and save the file somewhere appropriate.

If you haven't already done so I would urge you to investigate setting up your own PQs as they're a big bonus.

IF you're using GSAK you need to paste the HTML into your profile, after selecting 'Edit Your Profile'

GSAK automatically copies the details into your pasteboard for the purpose...

It will then show on the first page of you profile.

Thank you very much. That worked.

It does not show up the white belt and the bronze and silver badges though. Unless I am mistaken and I

do not qualify for them?

I don't run the badges/belt part, but if you run the macro on it's own you should get a new web page which shows the ones qualify for, as a check... That code is automatically added to your pasteboard, ready to copy to your profile.

If you ask in the GSAK forums the creator, or one of the GSAK guys can point you in the right direction.

(They are friendly over there, I suggest if you haven't registered that you do. Use the same user name as here, it makes things easier!)
