Anyone Still Looking for Boxing Week Deals?

GPSCity in Canada is having a Boxing "Week" sale which includes the Montana 650 for $499, the 62S for $289, the Oregon 550 for $329, Canadian Topo maps for $69, the Nuvi 550 for $199 and much more but I don't see the same on the US site.

Most Americans don't really celebrate Boxing Day, so that's probably why the US site doesn't have any Boxing Week deals.

 

Interesting how just across an imaginary line the customs are totally different! I went to a Boxing Day party that was thrown by a couple that was originally from England. I don't how traditional it was, but they decided it was a good day for people to get together because they take Christmas off and then don't have anything to do the next day. We yanks are more about Black Friday and Cyber Monday and Christmas deal kind of things

Black Friday is starting to take hold here in Canada as well, I guess having the dollar close to par makes it a good deal to go south of the border for the deals. As always Canadian retailers respond when it hurts their bottom line.

The UPS store in Ogdensburg NY was packed full of Canadians getting their BF deals back in December. You gotta love free shipping, and some things just aren't sold in Canada.

It still bugs me, though, why we Canucks have to pay a much higher price on books, magazines and greeting cards. On those products sold here, there are two prices permanently printed on the jacket cover, rear of the greeting card, etc. Despite having reached parity or very near to it, we still paid the higher price...and still do.
