Posted September 13, 2003 Share Posted September 13, 2003 From a thread that we have been running in the UK area (Under wheels over water)we have come up with a possible new feature and wanted to see what others think How about a page where you can put you cache up for adoption, when you move or other commitments get too much etc. Then where others can search for local caches that have been put up for adoption? This way rather than having to archive, there is a good chance that the cache can be kept going, it might well also help with the quality of some caches, as rather than being abandoned and the contents quality degrading – they would be looked after on a more proactive basis? Eagles may fly high, but weasels don’t get sucked into jet engines… Link to comment

I think they wanted an "adopt a cache" or "put a cache up for adoption" page. That way you could look to see if any caches in your area are available to adopt. I love new features, but the people need to know about them. I will only speak for myself here, but I bet it is true for most.... When I log on to GC, I go to the MY CACHE PAGE.... I think that is the way things are intended.... If there are new features, they need to be listed in some way on that page. Just my thoughts. Zahrim.... The link you just gave leads to the page, but I can find no way to get there from the main page. Care to help me? In other words, yes it is there (as I said), but what you posted is no help what so ever. MY point is that After a bit over a year of use, I have never seen this function, and have seen no indication as to the fact that is is even here.... We were thinking more along the lines of if you are the cache owner and were looking to put your cache up for adoption. If the details were put onto the cache page it’s self you might not read it if you had already been to the cache, but were in you local area. It would be a central database of cache to be adopted.
