Tried contacting GC.com, recvd a lame reply.

 

Can anyone shed some light ?

 

1. How is the data stored ?

2. Are caches stored in sub-directories in a file strucure or a database like SQLite ?

3. Does it allow off-line maps ?

4. Which maps are available other than Google. OSM, Streemap...

5. Can GPX files be imported ? Are they listed separately ?

6. Can GPX files be exported ?

7. Are MO caches available to Basic Members. Think Trimble did, do they all ?

8. What happens when there is no data signal ?

2. Are caches stored in sub-directories in a file strucure or a database like SQLite ? Offline lists are stored as seperate lists

3. Does it allow off-line maps ? Not that I can find

4. Which maps are available other than Google. OSM, Streemap... Google Street and Satellite only

5. Can GPX files be imported ? Are they listed separately ? Yes, you can select the list name

6. Can GPX files be exported ? Not that I can find

7. Are MO caches available to Basic Members. Think Trimble did, do they all ? Can't seem to do this

8. What happens when there is no data signal ? Presume that you are dependant on having off line lists

 

Can anyone compare it to cachebox ? Must admit I havn't tried Cachebox

Personal opinion i'd banish official app from your mind and purchase Neongeo from Marketplace. Superb! an android app for power caching not adhoc 1/2 caches , excellent developer 100+/month cacher and pro coder lots of updates.

 

Offline maps (sqlite) generate in MOBAC , online 1:50k maps , live download of caches , gpx import , manipulate trackables , log lonline , log field notes for later logs etc etc

does need Premium Membership to maximise the experience , i don't use my Garmin now !!
