Mind if I toss you a few recommendation on food?

Tropical dreams ice cream (kilauea video and ice cream, on the way to the Kilauea lighthouse) the most fantastical ice cream on earth. You'll dream about it long after you've gone, and the owner, Dan, is a hoot!! Every single ingredient is local to the islands. Brilliant.

Hamuras saimin. How good is Hamuras? It's Saimen is literally the wallpaper on my iPad. I can't recommend it enough. I would say go around 1030 or after 1p. It's VERY popular with the locals and there's not much room during their peak hrs. If you do go on the 'off' hours the place will be all yours.

Please, if you go, no matter how full you are, get a slice of the lilikoi chiffon pie! OMG! They have beef sticks and chicken, and honestly the chicken is superb. The 'regular' sized Saimen is plenty big and, since I'm ordering everything for you, go with the flow and get the local Red Diamond strawberry soda!

Also, the beach house restaurant is somewhat of a right of passage. Try to get a table at sunset, and this is one of the few places you should get a reservation for just before you leave.

Casa di Amici in Poipu. Seriously, it's a restaurant with a focus on risottos. Fantastic!

I wouldn't leave that island without multiple visits for Saimen and ice cream!

We got married in Kauai :) (Moloa'a Bay) and I've been a bunch of times, plus have had family there for years. If you have any other questions, let me know!
