+skubko
Hello, I would like to request an "upgrade" of the e-mail notification functionality. The notifications were the main reason why I paid for a premium membership. Right now, there are only few options to set up the notifications with. One that currently bothers me a lot is that I cannot filter out the caches I have already found - for example I want to receive notifications for all caches which are "Enabled" but only for those I have not found yet... This is not possible and basically the whole e-mail notification functionality has very few options to set up. It would be great to improve this area of geocaching web-site. Thanks in advance for a consideration of this feature request. Best regards skubko Quote Link to comment
+drcain.sk
Agreed - that would be a good thing to have. If the UserVoice was still active, I would put all my votes in for this too.. Quote Link to comment
+puczmeloun
And it's little bit weird, that I have to make for every type of cache it's own special notification. Why I can't make one simple notification for every traditional, multi and mystery publish log together? Not as "educated monkey" one special for traditional, one special for multi and one special for mystery. And why are notifications without coordinates, owner and other important informations? Why I have to use many of other software to make notifications useful? Quote Link to comment
Moun10Bike
Thank you for the request. We have this entered into our database. Quote Link to comment
+mamoreb
I can't ask in the sticky post, but perhaps this could be answered there? Should we reply with "I agree", +1 or similar, to the submissions we like the most? Or is that kind of response not taken into account for your list of priorities? Back to the topic - I'm very much in favour of better notifications. In addition to notifications for all cache types at once, I'd love to see more detail in the notification e-mail. I definitely don't want to see the forums here degrade into lists of posts consisting solely of "+1" like the feedback site did. I would say post if you feel you have something to offer to the conversation, otherwise understand that we (Groundspeak) generally hear and understand what the community is asking for. +stone-cacher
Hello, what does it mean if the title of this discussion is set to " SUBMITTED (26418) - [FEATURE] E-mail notification". I have the same issue with the publish emails and obviously it's still not done. For me I would like to see the owner and, if necessary, omit the reviewer. Knowing the reviewer does not give any added value to the notification, knowing the owner is much more interesting - at least for me. If other (header) informations are added as difficulty, terrain, container size and maybe the icons, it will help to decide if the cache is worth searching immediately or it can wait to be found ;-) Let's see what you think but for me the owner is a helpful information (not the reviewer)... Stone-Cacher That's a horse that's already been beaten many times. The way I understand it, it's not just a matter of modifying a feature, it's a matter of changing the entire distribution model. The way it was explained best to me: think of the notifications as "logs" - the new caches are being "logged" by the reviewers, and it's these "logs" that are actually being sent to you... not actual notifications. If you look at them that way, there's a limited list of items that can be relayed... "reviewer" would be one of those. This isn't a feature they seem willing to spend resources on, despite innumerable requests for modifying notifications: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=296675 http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=288455 http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=302502 http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=304649 http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=302502 http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=285152 http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=302973 etc...
