+sjayc1977
Does anyone know what these were originally designed for? I noticed that some of them have a little circuit board or chip in the cap. Ideas anyone? Quote Link to comment

Nano caches are normally the most hard to find, so they are good for tricky caches, and they fit into small places. Quote Link to comment

The term "blinky" is historical: they were originally little blinking lights that would be built into novelty items. I only vaguely remember them when they were popular, but I've found a couple nanos as you describe, made out of an actual blinky with the internals still intact and the log in the battery compartment, and that reminded me of the original use. Until I found one of those, I'd forgotten about that older use and thought they were originally designed for geocaching. Quote Link to comment
