+lazydawg
Does anyone know the HTML code to have a word blink on and off on a cache page? I checked the "knowledge books" with no success. I have tried <blink><blink/> and that didn't work. maybe it can't happen on a cache page? Quote Link to comment
+Bear and Ragged
Groundspeak only allow limited HTML. Before you do it on a cache page, think. Will it show on a GPS or phone when out caching? Quote Link to comment

You'll also want to make sure you've enabled HTML descriptions on the cache page. That said, many people find Blink annoying. Edited October 23, 2011 by Glimmereyes Quote Link to comment

Mr.Yuck
maybe it can't happen on a cache page? We can hope. Yeah, especially if it's an FTF congratulations. I think it works on cache pages, but don't quote me on it. Quote Link to comment

GOF and Bacall
I am sorry, I was asking for advice not opions My advice is don't. It seldom, if ever, looks anything but tacky. It is also rather annoying. Quote Link to comment
knowschad
Have you considered an animated GIF image? If all you want is a word or two, that might work best for you. Quote Link to comment
+lazydawg
Thank you, I had not thought of that. I will see what info I can find Quote Link to comment
+Bamilbis
Your question was answered. You screwed up the syntax. You put <blink/> and the proper form is </blink>. Slash first then blink. Quote Link to comment
+Lil Devil
I'll probably regret this, but check this out: http://www.flamingtext.com/Animated-Logos Quote Link to comment

That mistake would more likely have caused everything from the intitial blink tag to blink, rather than to cause the blinking to fail. Quote Link to comment
+lazydawg
I had tried both ways before I posted the question. Thanks for the help, I just wanted to post "3900 finds" to honor a local cacher at the bottom of my cache page since it was the cache that he achieved this milestone. Thanks again for the help, I have been able to accomplish what I wanted. Quote Link to comment

Thanks again for the help, I have been able to accomplish what I wanted. Looks like an animated GIF was the solution. Good job. PS: I side with those that find this sort of thing to be very annoying, but I'm glad that you were able to accomplish what you wanted to do. Quote Link to comment
+Viajero Perdido
How to make an animated GIF not animate in Firefox: about:config image.animation_mode none Also useful: browser.blink_allowed false Which leaves just Flash animations (punch the monkey!), and NoScript takes care of that nicely.
