Benchmark in Gothenburg, Sweden

I recently found this disc affixed to a wall of a building in Gothenburg city (in Barnhusgatan just off corner from Odinsgatan). I imagine that it is some sort of "local benchmark". Does anyone know, and also how to log it on Groundspeak dot com?

The Geoaching website only has a snapshot of the US National Geodetic Survey database, taken in 2000. It would not have benchmarks outside the US or even newer benchmarks in the US. If you can figure out what exactly that thing is, you could try making a Waymark for it on Waymarking.com. Hard to tell what that is, since it's a little blurry. If there is any text on that disc that would probably help identify it.

Hey Angus!

Well, it certainly looks as if it could be some sort of geodetic marker, but (as previously stated) it most certainly is not in the Geocaching database.

Your best bet is to attempt to find a Swedish Geodetic website or society to determine if it is indeed a geodetic marker. If it indeed is, the only way to 'log' it on Geocaching.com is as a waymark...mmmm Waymarking.com?

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I'll certainly try some more research then likely create a new Waymark once I have more details about the Marker.
