Quick coin test

Here is a quick coin test for an AC Hop Along Shadow Geocoin

As many of you may know, Shadow likes to send out cards. He has just sent out his latest one. As you can see he has visions of some of the places that we visited on our trip to GCF 2011 EU. To win this coin, be the first person to name the 10 locations. You can name the city or the GC number of the cache that is nearby where the picture was taken. If by Sunday night (Oct 9) no one has named all 10 locations, the first entry with the most correct answers will win the coin. Any post with edits will be ineligible. One post per hour per nick name.

Those were for GC26JK5, The River Thames - Rocks on the River Bed, a very neat earth cache in London. I don't think we had any that were tools, we just grabed random rocks, but that type of rock were used for tools. I would recomend doing that earth cache if you ever near by at the correct time. If your not there at the correct time, you may need scuba gear.

I will give it a go:

1. Vaduz - GCQ1QE

2. Copenhagen - GCR5F6

3. Prague - GC6F37

4. West Amesbury - GC1ANET

5. Lucerne - GC203EY

6. Limberg - GCZYQRE

7. Voralberg - GC12A1P

8. London - GC26JK5

9. Michelmersh - GC200C9

10. Petersborough - GC1DD46

Good luck to everyone and thanks for the cointest.

so the water is high or low... according to the time!

Well... sometimes you can not recognize which were used as tools and which not.... I have seen photos but I can not say I can recognize them if I see any in a field...!

Sometimes these are pieces that were cut from a bigger rock, while ancients were trying to make the tools... so they are not tools but the left overs... which are very interesting things for archeologists too! some look like Flintstones.. not the family!

I read once that arceologists found a road that was full of rock axes from the prehistoric times! people didn;t know what these were and used them to make the path... the road! huh!!! If I remember well... they found 3000 or 5000 axes made or rock! WOW!

I hope you kept some of these rocks as souvenirs! :)

I thought this would be done, by now. But I guess a couple of the pictures do not give to much detail.

Hint 2.

We were at Lake Como, that is where Shadow's Friend took her fall. Shadow would not tease her by placing a picture of that on his card.

Bonus hint.

We had a great time in Petersburg! We visited and had a pint or two with The Klever Boys. We even did some caching, but Shadow did not include any pictures on his card.

I met my husband (also a Steven) in Cambridge, and we were married there. I grew up near Peterborough ..and we lived in St Ives (near Huntingdon) for a while as well. Glad you enjoyed living in the area.

Gatoulis - yes, they are flints in the picture. It is a very common rock of the area, in fact in a lot of East Anglia it is the only rock to be found. As such, flints were used there as cobble stones a lot for old pavements. Also they are used as decoration and building materials in churches from 11th century. (There are many examples in Norfolk with uncut round towers made with flint.) Later flints were cut (or "knapped") to show their glassy grey interior and used with transported dressed stones at the corners of square towers.

Thanks for the cointest, No Snow, sorry I missed it! (I would have had no idea about those photos - it is interesting to find out about places in this way.)
