Mac/Garmin Communicator plugin not detected, Oregon 450

brand new mac, trying to dowload some caches to my Oregon 450.

 

I downloaded and installed the Garmin communicator plugin.

 

run the test page, says " Garmin Communicator Plugin is NOT detected. See our download and installation instructions."

 

I see the instructions, I double, triple, quad druple check....its downloaded--its installed.

 

WTF?

never mind....I figured it out. I was using Chrome browser..... ^%$%$#^%^*%

As a PM you have better options then using the Send to GPS button. Which is the only reason you would need the Communicator plugin.

Any that don't require GSAK or similar to unzip the GPX files?

There are plenty other reasons to use the Garmin Communicator plugin. "Send to GPS" works great with Google Maps for instance. Edited September 26, 2011 by coggins

Mac OS X has zip/unzip built in. It's been there for years; I have 10.4 on this MacBook and it's in that release, but I think it started even before that. No need for a third-party utility. Just double-click on the zipped file.
