+Simply Paul
...Prague, in my case: Styx I often come back from a trip somewhere and spot a cache or two I really should've gone for while in the area. Do you suffer from the same problem? What have you missed out on and kicked yourself afterwards for? Quote Link to comment
Degucacher
...Prague, in my case: Styx I often come back from a trip somewhere and spot a cache or two I really should've gone for while in the area. Do you suffer from the same problem? What have you missed out on and kicked yourself afterwards for? Completely. Recently my wife and I spent three weeks in Canada and of the 300 caches i planned to snag between Vancouver and Calgary i only managed 50. Quote Link to comment
+Delta68
For me it's: G'ebbes in Holland. Placed in March 2001, it would have filled the hole in our caches set in 2001 grid. Instead, we found Zandenbos in 2008, a mere 25 miles from G'ebbes... Mark Quote Link to comment
+ratcliffe
Any easy looking cache near where I was, fits the bill of this discussion nicely! The worst being a nice looking cache in Tallin, Estonia last autumn.... since then I've really made an effort to do at least one cache in each country I have visited... Quote Link to comment

I've cached in every country I've been in since. Quote Link to comment
+*mouse*
Walked right by this one last year. Don't know why - just forgot to stop and look. High Willhays Also had good intentions to find Three Peaks Challenge while in Scotland last year, but in the end we didn't have the time to get over to Snowdon to pick up the clue so we had to leave it. Such a shame as it's now archived. Edited September 24, 2011 by *mouse* Quote Link to comment
+Pharisee
Whenever I go out for a trig-pointing session!! OK... not abroad but same applies. When I log them on T:UK, there is invariably one or two previous logs on some of the trigpoints that state... "Visited this while doing the nearby geocache." Quote Link to comment
+Original A1
Yup, "Shackleton's Rest" (GCZ8ZK) in South Georgia. Thanks to a shoogly GPS reception which was taking me every which way, and a time limit in which I also wanted to see Grytviken, it eluded me, only for another cacher to see my pictures and comment "See that...? It's behind there!" *Sigh* I then also got home to discover that another one had been published in Grytviken between my leaving and getting there and I'd walked right past it. Dubious hiding place as you're not allowed to touch any of the old whaling relics there, and the description seems to involve doing just that... Ach well, plenty of other great finds I have made, but it's just a shame about these as it's highly unlikely I'll ever get the chance to return. Quote Link to comment
+Palujia
Our caching buddies the Beauchiefs gave us a good idea - once we had shelled out for a 3G phone and downloaded the GS and CGeo software. Every time we go anywhere, as soon as we park up I quickly fire up the phone and have a look to see if there are any local caches. Doesn't work every time due to reception problems but does save missing caches !! Quote Link to comment
+Cornell Finch
This one, while I was in Scotland last week. Went to Fort William too. Quote Link to comment
+Simply Paul
This one, while I was in Scotland last week. Went to Fort William too.If it helps, that cache is a looooong drive from Fort William. I'd say it would be worth it for the experience though, especially in good weather. Some cool caches on the way too... There's always next time [] Quote Link to comment
+speakers-corner
I travelled to England to stay with my daughter in Prickwillow (near Ely) this year. I solved "Count on me" and was looking forward to finding it when I realised that I had left the correct coords at home (in Germany) and because the Internet connection is so bad in Prickwillow I was unable to solve it again. So now I shall have to wait until I am bach in England again. Quote Link to comment
