cmoore10
I would like to place a geocache at a roadside park here in Missouri. The property is owned by the state but open to the public 24/7. How do I get permission to hide a cache here? I have the best place for one!!! Quote Link to comment
+Keelmann And Cici
If it's actually a park, you should be able to find it under your local Parks &Recreation organization, then find out their policy, if any, on geocaching. If it's a rest area, that would normally fall under your state department of transportation. Quote Link to comment

cmoore10
I believe it to be owned by Missouri Department of Transportation. It is a roadside park/rest area. It is not owned by the Parks and Recreation Dept. I used to work for them. How do I contact someone to get permission if it is controlled by such a large department? Quote Link to comment
+niraD
One way is to ask someone at the department. There should be someone who is supposed to interact with the public, answer questions, etc. Ask them who you should ask to obtain permission. Quote Link to comment
+N0WNV
Since you Live in the Hannibal area go to the MODOT District Office on the south edge of town and talk to them they will be helpful and tell you yes or no on the placement of the cache in that area. Quote Link to comment
