+GoodHunting
What happens if the email address in someone's profile becomes "out of date." If I try to email that person will I be notified that it is undeliverable, or does it go to a "dead email drop?" GoodHunting Link to comment
Elias
The return address on the e-mails sent out is the address of the bot, so any bounced messages or replies basically just disappear. Unfortunately, You have no way to know if the message was actually delivered. -Elias Link to comment

+Jamie Z
How come some folks profile says that their email is no longer valid? Ummm... I can't find an example. But there is some sort of highlighted message displayed about the email being returned. How are those generated if the emailer bot doesn't know about it? Jamie Link to comment

This message indicates that the user never completed the sign-up process with the web site and validated their account. You'll recall that when you created an account, we emailed you a validation link to verify your e-mail address. Users that didn't complete this process will have this message in their profiles. The only thing the e-mail bot knows is not to send mail to an account which hasn't been validated. -Elias Link to comment
