StephenCB
What's better? Coke or Pepsi? Same kind of question. I think the original question is something I'd like to know too. I am currently using my LG Ally "smart" phone to GC and I can go from having the cache 300 feet in front of me to 300 feet behind me by going one step forward. If you could give some suggestions as to what to look at for in my first real handheld GPS, it would be appreciated. Hmm maybe I should check out http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=230083 Edited September 5, 2011 by StephenCB Quote Link to comment
Contra1971
the best GPS unit is the one that you can afford Quote Link to comment
+germanybert
The best one is the one I am using right now. But I think you should look at the Garmin GPS62 series or the Magellan Explorist Series. IMHO the GPS you get should have topographical maps or have the ability to install maps from one of the free map websites and it should have the paperless geocaching feature. +luvvinbird
All good advice. Be prepared to spend about $250-ish for a really decent GPSr with the bells and whistles necessary for ease and accuracy of acquiring satelite signals, ease of use, ease of downloading/uploading and, of course, ease of pursuit of the cache. I also like the Garmin line especially the 62s, as mentioned. Quote Link to comment
+The Yinnies
The Delorme PN-60 is also a great unit. Thanks Quote Link to comment
