Someone may have identified these before, and I know that these descriptions make the hunt easier, but we ran into a little problem locating a cache yesterday because we were following what we thought was a path, but the hider probably meant road. Anyway to list a description like this somewhere? Would people find it useful in the Tips for Hiding a Cache section? Certainly up for dicussion or revision, but here's a start...

A tip for people who place caches:

Distinguish a PATH from a ROAD, from a TRAIL etc.

PATH: About as wide as a Sidewalk or a little wider.

PAVED PATH: could be a sidewalk or something used like a sidewalk but isn't meant for vehicular traffic.

TRAIL: Wide enough to walk single file.

ROAD: An earth or dirt passageway that has ruts and has obviously been driven upon.

PAVED ROAD: A paved passageway that isn't as busy as a STREET.

STREET: A paved passageway that has frequent vehicular traffic.

I would say no, because even if someone did identify whether it was a path/trail/road/whatnot, I'm not going to remember what thats suppose to mean icon_wink.gif

In some cases I can see were the size and surface (paved, not paved, gravel, etc.) could be helpful. But you dont need to define all the different "walkways" to do that.
