FS: almost new eXplorist GC

I purchased a brand new Magellan eXplorist GC no more than a week ago. I have used it to find roughly 30 caches. The unit is 100% complete with batteries and paperwork and is fully functionnal.

 

This unit would be perfect for new geocachers or even kids. Retails for $149, I am asking $100 plus actual shipping costs.

Just out of curiosity, why are you selling it a week in? I'm just wondering because I have somewhat of an interest in the exploristGC but kinda got the impression that since it's made exclusively for geocaching it may be missing key features that other GPSrs have for other GPS navigation uses.

You're right - there are some key features I was looking for that the GC doesn't have, such as area calculation (required to solve a nearby Earth Cache) and topographic maps. I got a deal locally on an eXplorist 610 and jumped on it, which is why I'm selling the GC.

Would love to learn more about this. I've been using my iphone to geocache and am interested in a GPS, but have seen so many mixed reviews. Any chance I could call you for a chat? Or if you prefer, I can give you my number and you can call me.

the only real problem I see with it, is that it has no compass, but for $65 I would be interested
