+ABNDaddy
How would someone go about trying to get a specific cache Icaon for the Ranger Rick geocaches that have popped up the past couple months? As more and more are starting to get published. They seem to be very popular with the nature centeres and so forth? Quote Link to comment
Clan Riffster
Write to Groundspeak or post in the feedback site. Quote Link to comment
+wimseyguy
New icons are rare, very rare. I doubt this will ever happen. But a souvenir might be created if there is enough demand. I hear that some people like to collect the souvenirs. Quote Link to comment
+Ike 13
I have no idea who or what Ranger Rick is, but I don't think we need anymore icons. Quote Link to comment
+lamoracke
there are lots of specific Boy Scout series and others, would be hard to differentiate, but it never hurts to ask. Quote Link to comment
+Castle Mischief
Whoever owns the "Ranger Rick" name would have to contact Groundspeak and there would have to be an agreement between them. Quote Link to comment
+CanDMan47
I have no idea who or what Ranger Rick is... Me either, care to explain? Quote Link to comment
+Team Taran
Ranger Rick is the kids' magazine published by the National Wildlife Federation. I don't know the connection with caching. Quote Link to comment
+BuckeyeClan
It looks like a program sponsored by the National Wildlife Federation for parks and land managers to put out caches that appeal to kids. Here's more info. Quote Link to comment

Here's more info. OK, that's not just cool, that's Ultra Mega Cool! We have a local Open Space Circuit Challenge, sponsored by Midpeninsula Regoional Open Space District (SF Bay area) where you get 22 stamps and you get a geocoin (fewer for kids to get one of the little cache buddy type tags) Serious fun and a great motivator to get myself and many others out into the Open Space reserves. Nice to see more of this partnering stuff. Edited August 31, 2011 by DragonsWest Quote Link to comment
+MissJenn
http://www.geocachin...ngerricktrails/ There probably will not be a unique cache type icon. I do agree that it's a nice program! Quote Link to comment
+hzoi
These all sound like traditional caches to me, the only difference is that they have a unified theme. Only other cache type like this is the A.P.E. cache, which was created as a promotion. Meaning that the studio paid for the privilege. So, if Ranger Rick coughs up some cash, I'd say there would be a great possibility of a unique icon. Until then, not so much. Quote Link to comment
