Lilmissy001
Does anyone carry with them a "kit" so to speak of things they might need while caching? For instance I saw that tweezers are handy for micro-caches to get the log book out, and I always have a flashlight, pen, and items to leave. Is there a link or a list of things someone could post? Thanks for the advice! LM001 Quote Link to comment

+Dgwphotos
SPARE BATTERIES!! ha ha, good point. I'll add them to my kit Rechargables are best, and fairly cheap now, especially when you compare it with the cost of buying standard alkalines on a frequent basis. Quote Link to comment
+JunebugTN
In addition to the items already listed, we also carry: small first aid kit bug spray antibacterial gel or handi-wipes sunscreen notepad and pen to jot down stuff like where trackables came from We also pack a spare Epi-pen for our daughter's bee allergy. If any in your group carry an inhaler or something like that, I'd throw a spare in. Hope that gives you some more ideas. June Edited August 21, 2011 by JunebugTN Quote Link to comment
Narcosynthesis
I have a wee bag that holds: Pen Notepad Tweezers Small torch swag/trades Any geocoins or travel bugs I currently have. Things I probably should add: gloves and hand wipes. That is a wee bag that can be chucked into whatever larger bag I am carrying that day that will have other items suitable to that days trip - sunscreen, food/water, camera, waterproofs and whatever else I am carrying Quote Link to comment

+mpilchfamily
Here is what i generally carry. Leather gloves- Many caches are in or under hollow logs. You never know what might be in there with the cache. Flashlight- to see into those dark holes 2 30 gal trash bags- For CITO opportunities, they also double as emergency rain cover 4 freezer bags- In case a cache is in need of a new bag note pad- Helpful with doing Multis or if a cache log is full and there is room in the container for an added sheet to the log. Bottle of water- no explanation there 50+ft paracord- Never know when you may need a bit of rope Pen- another no brainer hand sanitizer pen- Works as a great disinfectant for any cuts and scrapes you may get Swag items (small toys)- duh 4+ cereal bars- A good hike needs some good trail food 3 or 4 film cans- Replacement containers if a cache is in bad shape. Not the best but will work till a CO can get out and do some maintenance. Folding saw- Been several occasions on the trail i find trees and limbs over the path. Just doing my part to help maintain the path. It also came in handy once retreving a cache that fell into an 8 foot tall hollow stump. large camping knife- Never know when a good knife can come in handy 3 sets of spare batteries- Batteries are always going dead on a GPSr Compass- My GPSr don't have electronic compass' so a magnetic compass comes in handy at times. First Aid Kit- for obvious reasons. Quote Link to comment

+SirDonB
Keep in mind, the exact contents are gonna varrie from region to region also. what one may have in the northeast will not match what someone in the south west might have in their kit. Though there will be some universal items no matter where you go, pack your kit according to the area you will be caching in and you cant go wrong. As a new geocacher, I do not have a caching kit yet, but will be putting one together over time and will be taking into consideration what everyone here has said they have in theres and making mine fit my area and terrain. +AmphibianTrackers
In addition to the other items I have Calimine lotion, neosporin, hats, a cool wrap that you soak in water and then wear around your neck, napkins or paper towels for the wet containers, etc. Quote Link to comment
