knowschad
Those particular buttons, while I'd rather not see them, don't really bother me, either. They are simply "Follow us on" links. No biggie. Quote Link to comment
+Ecylram
Barely notice them. Can't say I get too worked up about it. Who knows, might be handy. Quote Link to comment
+sbell111
Honestly, I think that your idea has no merit. Just because you don't take advantage of them doesn't mean that others don't wish to. Further, I don't see how the mere existance of these buttons on the header are cluttering up anything or are overly distracting. Quote Link to comment
+northernpenguin
Hey if you don't want people linking to caches externally, maybe you would prefer the whole site goes behind a New York Times style paywall. Then NOBODY but paid up Premium Members could see the caches! In other words, read a few RFCs from 1992 and learn how the Internet works. Hell no to the idea. Quote Link to comment
+Walts Hunting
This is one of those ideas that makes me wish I could vote no. Quote Link to comment
Pup Patrol
http://feedback.geocaching.com/forums/75775-geocaching-com/suggestions/2172725-remove-facebook-twitter-flickr-and-youtube-butt I made this idea on feedback. Any comments? If you think it's a good idea, please vote for it! Thanks! You know, I don't do any of that tweeting or facebooking or such, but having those teeny-weeny buttons available to the folks that use them bothers me not one whit. If folks want to use those buttons, there's no reason they shouldn't have them easily available. Quote Link to comment
+Team Van Dyk
Reading through the responses on the feedback thread was enlightening. I'm starting to think that the geocaching community has a much larger percentage of tinfoil-hat-wearing, FUD-spreading Luddites than the broader population. Don't get me wrong; if social media isn't your thing, that's great (and, frankly, a bit admirable). But, goodness sakes, these buttons are nothing more than links to GC's social media pages; it's not the mark of the beast. --Matt Quote Link to comment
+Shebaz Jenkins
I for one am I very avid twitter/google user so I firmly believe that any real page SHOULD have these buttons. It is the only really reliable way to get your members to be able to share content and get new customers. Quite frankly, if I see a business page like this without them, I would think it is pretty amateurish. (Note: Amateur does not mean bad, just not professional) Quote Link to comment

I have no idea how some of these people manage to leave their houses everyday and return at night without incident. Quote Link to comment
+fizzymagic
If you don't like them, use greasemonkey to remove them. It's not that hard. Quote Link to comment
+dfx
If you don't like them, use greasemonkey to remove them. It's not that hard. Or ABP, even easier and more efficient: geocaching.com#p(class=SocialMediaIcons NoBottomSpacing right) Quote Link to comment
TheCacheSeeker
bump. It's at 491 votes now! Yay! Quote Link to comment
+t4e
i couldn't care less that those icons are there as long as ABP is doing the job of removing them for me thus allowing those that wanna use them have their fun Edited September 18, 2011 by t4e Quote Link to comment
+popokiiti
Different strokes for different folks. Me? I'm not bothered either way. Quote Link to comment

+Manville Possum
I use the Youtube link to the geocaching channle. I even have my own geocaching channle on Youtube. Won't get my vote. Quote Link to comment
+germanybert
IMHO this is a ridiculous thread. Because the OP does not use something she wants them taken away from everyone? Sounds quite selfish and arrogant to me. I noticed that the OP also has no photos uploaded. Maybe we should just take that function away also to reduce the amount of links and buttons. I don't like the color green so I want GS to take all green off the website. I don't care about those that love the color green....it has to be my way. +Walts Hunting
Good comment germanybart it seems somewhat native for someone to think that if he Disney use it it shouldn't be there. I don't use them but don't find them annoying. This is another case where I wished they allowed the same voting style as they do for challenges. It would get a couple of nos from me Edited September 18, 2011 by Walts Hunting Quote Link to comment
+Ecylram
I don't see how my geocaching life would be better if those tiny icons were removed. I hardly notice them and they are helpful for some. But then I don't alphabetized my cereal boxes, or arainge them by height. Quote Link to comment
+frogcooke
Drat, I just posted a link to a thread on twitter... Should have used the button. Silly me. Quote Link to comment
