GPX file editor

Following on from the excellent advice given by Graculus I have spent some time familiarising myself with Pocket Queries. Later this year i will be travelling to Canada visiting Vancouver, Banff and Calgary and using Pocket Queries i have identified all the quick wins no more than >100m off the route i will be taking. I have spent some time drilling the list down to just those caches i want to visit based on location and proximity to points of interest or photographic opportunities. What i would now like to be able to do edit the GPX file to remove the caches i will not be visiting.

I appreciate my question is very subjective but what is the best GPX editor available for MAC to remove entries from a GPX file.

Many thanks :D

I was going to say GSAK is ideal for this until I read the word MAC.... GSAK isn't supported on the MAC OS but can run in 'virtual' situations. Have a look at this post in the GSAK FAQ. I'm sure other MAC users will come along soon. Might be worth your while posting in the main technology forum for a larger audience to help you.

GPX files are just text, so you can edit them with any regular text editor, you just need to inspect the file to work out where the tags start & end. Having said that if it's a HUGE file and you want to make many changes then doing it in a text editor might be a bit of a strain.

They are text, but it's not necessarily easy reading.

They are XML files, if you can get an XML reader it might be slightly better than a normal text editor.

But GPX files are really just a transport mechanism, and not intended for direct use. Does the Mac have some sort of Windows virtual environment so you can run GASK? Is there no MAC equivalent of GSAK? I just has a quick Google and it came up with MacCaching, but I don't know anything about it.

There has to be a proper way to do it - while there are fewer Macs than PCs there must be enough to support at least one app.
