Caching In!
I am looking to purchase a TOUGH/waterproof case for my iphone4 (for geocaching obviously). Can anyone recommend one they use? Also - I am concerned at my GPS signal being weak due to a thick case - can anyone verify if they've had any problems with their case? Quote Link to comment
+CacheFreakTim
The only water proof case I have seen looked like a bag. It was designed to take to the beach or a pool and you could even use the touch screen though the see through bag. Im not sure who made it but it seemed like a gimmick to me. As far as a tough case designed to take falls, I used the Otter Box on my old iPhone 3GS. It was super tough to the point you could throw it against a wall and not break the phone (don't really try this.) Quote Link to comment
+Team Van Dyk
Magellan ToughCase is really the perfect (albeit, pricey) answer. Tough, waterproof, built-in battery and improved GPS antenna. I don't think there is am iPhone 4 specific version, but rumor has it that the iPhone 4 fits into the 3Gs version. Quote Link to comment
freeday
Magellan ToughCase is NOT WATERPROOF There have been people using the ToughCase and killing their iPhone with water! So do not use it under wet conditions. Quote Link to comment

+splashy
Just take a zip bag with you, when it starts raining your phone is save. Quote Link to comment
+BAMBOOZLE
Just take a zip bag with you, when it starts raining your phone is save. This also works for hearing aids or anything that CAN'T get wet ( $ 2000 + for the aids)....for the aids I use a 35 mm film can as well. Quote Link to comment
+CacheFreakTim
I found the waterproof bag/case I was talking about. Check out "Aquapac Waterproof Case for iPhone and Droid" at Amazon or other stores. Edited August 27, 2011 by robertlipe Quote Link to comment

+Lieblweb
We have Kwik Tek Dry paks for our phones when we go kayaking. However, we've never tried to find geocaches with the phones in the bag. The bags are neat - you can use the phone (touchscreen works) and make calls while the phone is inside the bag. This bag is waterproof and you can dunk it under water. You can find these at Amazon. We just don't use our phones to geocache with in the rain/wet. We put our phones away and use our handheld GPS. The phones cost $700 to replace. The handheld GPS is only half that....I would rather ruin a handheld GPS than the phone. Edited December 25, 2012 by Lieblweb Quote Link to comment
