The Magna Defender Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 (edited) Anyone like extreme caches or can recommend any? I've got a few up trees and down in tunnels, whats everyone's thoughts on extreme caches in general? I for one love caches which get the heart and adrenaline pumping, as it makes a nice change from the usual stuff by the side of the road. +steel city babes Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 I have done a few tunnel caches not sure if they are extreme but the one I am about to list is in my Top 5 Caches if not NUMBER ! The Labyrinth I would consider this extreme as you are on all fours at times....weel thought out with exceptional detail.....Wonderful cache. I like the adventure with the cache! Quote
GeoReapers Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 We try and do something difficult as often as we can, although we just did our first 5/5 the other day. Honestly, we recently just took up rock climbing for the primary purpose of getting caches that require that. Quote
BaylorGrad Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Frankly, I don't think I've done a cache that I would consider extreme. The highest rated I've gotten was a 2/4 in the woods, and while it was usually in a very swampy area, the ground was dry (or covered in snow, I can't recall) when I made the grab. So I'm still looking forward to my 1st extreme cache. I'll let you know. Quote
A & J Tooling Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Google your request and then go to that website. There are quite a few extremes out there. Quote
hukilaulau Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 whats everyone's thoughts on extreme caches in general? Like 'em. haven't done enough of 'em. I bought a kayak specifically for geocaching but the water caches I have done have'nt been extreme. Quote
SeekerOfTheWay Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 I enjoy high terrain caches. I've done Kayaking, canoe, tree climbing, wading, hiking. All were fun. Quote
SwineFlew Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 (edited) Any extreme caches by Vinny & Sue team The most extreme cache they got is this one: Psycho Urban Cache #9 - Hot Glowing Tribulations Very likely its the most extreme caches in the world. Edited August 11, 2011 by SwineFlew Quote
SeekerOfTheWay Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Interesting cache page and logs. What's the deal with that cache? Is it real or one of those liar caches I've heard about? Quote
bflentje Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Interesting cache page and logs. What's the deal with that cache? Is it real or one of those liar caches I've heard about? It is my impression that some of Vinny's PUC's are real and some are liars. Quote
SeekerOfTheWay Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 The radioactive one seems made up. Neat description though. Not sure I get the whole liar cache thing though. Isn't rating your cache, and receiving a 5/5 for finding a liar cache skewing your actual ratings? Quote

PurpleCatPaws Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Excellent, I never imagined that folks would embellish like that to add to the mystery/excitement of a find! Wow, just when I think I'm getting a handle on things I learn about a whole new aspect of this game. Whew! I sat down to browse the forums for "just a little while" and now it's midnight. Yikes! +Stoka Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 I did my first 5/5 earlier in the week that involved going down a tunnel with a stream in it and i'm hooked! Quote

Team Van Dyk Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Pretty much any of the caches in the Paycho Urban Cache Series are right up there on my want list, but particularly, #9: http://coord.info/GCTA5E Quote
