ReadySteadyGoo
Hi, I've been doing geocaching for a few months now and we love it. Mainly using my iphone 4 to find the caches. Now we are wanting to plant caches, but are a little worried the iphone doesn't give very accurate readings. So we are going to buy a handheld GPS. Could anyone advise on a GPS that would be good for a beginner? This will only get used mainly for the co ordinates when planting caches. Many Thanks Quote Link to comment
+mpilchfamily
Your iPhone 4 will do fine at giving you accurate enough cords for hiding a cache. But it would be helpful to know your budget for this new unit your looking to buy. Quote Link to comment

+BrixingtonPaddler
Garmin Etrex Venture HC (£120ish although I just got a new one off ebay for £53) will give you your planting coords, but will also allow you to do the longer walks without draining the battery of your iphone Quote Link to comment
+eusty
You could get a Dakota 10 for that budget as well But if it's just co-ordinates you need then a etrex H will do this for you, check on ebay as they can be found for as little as £20 (make sure it's the H model ) Quote Link to comment
