+HubiLux
just saw the world ranking in geocaches. http://www.cacherstats.com/Rank1-125.html First place: 55367 caches found. best day: 917 caches in one day !! How is this possible. If you do geocaching 24hours a day, you have to find every 1,5min a cache IMPOSSIBLE and there are a lot of users who have 500 and more caches on their best day! +Gitchee-Gummee
Keep in mind that everyone has their own idea of what "the way to do it" consists of. There are crews that go out with 5 - 10 people, leap-frogging power trails and the like. Because it was a "team effort" they feel entitled to claim those finds individually. There are other methods also, whether others consider it "right" or "wrong", it doesn't matter. Some do "armchair" geocaching w/o ever actually finding a cache (in real life). Most could care in the least! Quote Link to comment
+niraD
best day: 917 caches in one day !!How is this possible. Sounds like a numbers run to me:http://cacheopedia.com/wiki/Numbers_run You don't need to use questionable techniques like leapfrogging or the three cache monte to get numbers in that range. All you need is a series of caches spaced every 528' along a road, designed to be found easily and quickly. Well, that and the stamina and planning to keep finding caches hour after hour after hour. Here's a video that shows a team finding 3 caches on the Route 66 numbers run trail: Quote Link to comment

It's pretty easy with one of those power trails out west. There are a few people who have over 1,000 legit finds in 24 hours. All it takes is the money to get to one of them and an amazing capacity for monotony. Quote Link to comment
