+tmclaughlin1963
I have been geocaching for 3 days and I picked up a geocoin today. With a tracking number. How do I look this tracking number up and then what should I do with it? Quote Link to comment
+The Moop Along
You type the tracking number into the box that says "Enter the Tracking Code of this Item" at this gc.com page: http://www.geocaching.com/track/default.aspx Then in the upper right you will find a choice in Trackable Options to "Found It? Log It!" Your type of log will be "Grab It" if you actually picked up the coin. TMA Quote Link to comment

+keewee
Hi there, Welcome to geocaching, geocoins and the forums. For a quick primer see the links in my signature below. You should also read some of the knowledge base documents on the main geocaching.com site to familiarise yourself with the guidelines of geocaching and trackable items. If you go to the front page of geocaching.com there is a link for Trackables under the Play menu. Good luck. Quote Link to comment

+Fiery Searcher
Your type of log will be "Grab It" if you actually picked up the coin. I think this depends... ...If you picked up the coin FROM a geocache, then you would select "Retrieved from __geocache name here___" ...If you picked up the coin from another person, or found it in another cache altogether, then "Grab it" would be better. There are also other things you can do to make sure the coin's mileage is correct, but those options are best saved if/when you really need them. After you type in the tracking number and the coin's page appears, it should tell you "where" the coin is in the "Recently spotted" section. If the coin is in a geocache, the geocache's name will be listed here. This is definitely the easiest route! Quote Link to comment
