+John in Valley Forge
So I am placing a cache. Cannot decide if it is a Mystery/Puzzle or a Mutli. I would like to hear opinions here. The cache is not located at the posted coordinates. There you will find a number that will tell you how far up the trail to go to get to the cache. Quote Link to comment
+dorqie
I would call that a multi. The final isn't at the posted co-ords, but the instructions on how to get there are. 2 stage multi Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
A general rule of thumb, if there is something at the posted coordinates (container, tag, sign, statue, etc.) that provides a clue to the location of the cache its a multi. If there is nothing at the posted coordinates then it's a puzzle/mystery. An exception to the puzzle/mystery category would be caches at the posted coordinates where there is some sort of trick involved with opening it, or getting at the logbook. For instance container locked with a combo lock where you have to somehow figure out the combination would fall into the puzzle/mystery category even though it is at the posted coordinates. +DanOCan
Yep, I'm with Briansnat. My general rule is "If there is a reason to visit the posted coordinates then it likely is a Multi. If there is nothing at the posted coordinates (ie: they're bogus) then it's an Unknown." Quote Link to comment
+John in Valley Forge
It can get confusing. Those are really good, practical answers. I have decided that I will classify it as a multi Quote Link to comment
