njcx2
I can't decide between the Oregon 450 and the 62S. Does the fact that there is a $50 mail in rebate on the 450 make this a no brainer or is the 62S worth the extra? Quote Link to comment
luvvinbird
I can't decide between the Oregon 450 and the 62S. Does the fact that there is a $50 mail in rebate on the 450 make this a no brainer or is the 62S worth the extra? I have both and I use both, but I give the edge to the 62s. Admittedly, I'm still getting used to the Oregon 450 which I purchased more for travel. However, I seem to be constantly flipping profiles as I like to use the GPS to both navigate to the cache "on road" and then "off road". Maybe there's a way to do that and I just haven't figured it out yet. I've met other Oregon users who use their car mounted Nuvi's to navigate "on road" and always have their Oregon's set to "off road". With the 62s, it's no problem at all to use it in and out of my car. Quote Link to comment
t4e
definitely the 450...in a pinch can use the handheld for driving directions, however we, like most people, have a dedicated GPS for driving personally i do not like the ergonomics of the 62...too bulky and a lot bigger plus i would not trade the touch screen on the 450 for buttons Edited July 27, 2011 by t4e Quote Link to comment
michaelnel
I really didn't like my Oregon 450 (lots of bugs, but mostly the display was too difficult to read in bright sunlight). I loved the 62S I had, never should have sold it. Edited July 28, 2011 by michaelnel Quote Link to comment
Texas Charles
Don't even think about the 62s. Get the 450T instead. I have a 450T and a 550. I have used a 62 and it is a no brainer which is the way to go. Texas Charles Quote Link to comment
luvvinbird
So far, it's the 62s 3 and the Oregon 2....bottom of the ninth. Quote Link to comment
coggins
Oregon 450, I went with that one over the 62 series and the display works very well in bright sunlight Quote Link to comment
ryanr69
I just went through the same exercise.. The Oregon 450 is superior. Quote Link to comment
CacheFreakTim
Im a big fan of my 450 when it comes to Geocaching. Entering coordinates, and logging caches is super simple with the touch screen. I have not had one single issue with mine. Quote Link to comment
