found benchmark, trying identify

Found a benchmark today trying to see if it is in the NGS database. I found one that is supposed to be close to it, but claims to be under a cap and has the wrong designation.

 

Benchmark found at: N 27 09.492 W 80 14.822 (SW corner of intersection of Kanner Highway aka SR 76 & Indian St)

 

Stamped (very faint):

FL DOT [Florida Department Of Transportation)

714-89-01

C-14

 

C-14 is for certain as it is spraypainted on the sidewalk next to the benchmark. The benchmark is mounted on the concrete sidewalk; does not look like it was ever under a cap.

 

Probably wont be around for too long as I expect the sidewalk where the benchmark is located to be ripped out by the construction work in the area.

Looks like the only thing in the NGS database at that intersection is C 569 (DE6040)

 

Lots of benchmarks aren't in the NGS database (and so aren't listed at Geocaching.com). For an explanation, see the section of the FAQ titled, I found a benchmark, but it isn't in the database. Why?
