MrCJDL
Having recently released a TB, and even more recently read through a lot of the posts on the TB forums... this LINKY is totally going to get nicked (stolen, mysteriously go missing, etc, to you non-U.K.-er's) at some point, isn't it ? Any bets as to how long it'll be ? Edited July 20, 2011 by cjdl Quote Link to comment
MrCJDL
BTW, if anyone knows/cares... out of interest, why does the forum thingy (on the left) say im a member and not a premium member ? Is there a separate 'Forum' membership ? Quote Link to comment

The Blorenges
That is a cute TB. With the little accessories added it's verging on the "too cute to be safe". I wish Jenny Springer well. You seriously want bets? OK... I bet she'll do 423 miles. Any advance on that? MrsB Quote Link to comment

Thanks that fixed it. I'm hoping she'll travel quite far... but I really do get the feeling it'll go walkies (pardon the pun) at some point ! Oh well, nothing ventured - nothing gained Quote Link to comment
Panther&Pine
I'm going to guess between 500 and 700 miles. Quote Link to comment
Bear and Ragged
I'd like to see it do well, but, with those 'extras' on... 300 miles? Quote Link to comment
BlueDeuce
Cute, weak chain, no instruction tag, however points for non-directional mission. Well, too much relying on luck to say how long it'll stay in, but I'll say 366 days. Quote Link to comment
MrCJDL
Cute, weak chain, no instruction tag, however points for non-directional mission. Yep, I read this forum shortly after i'd already released/dropped it. DOH ! Oh well, I'm not the type that will get overly emotional if (when?) it goes missing... I can always release another - with a 3" hardened steel chain, a hole drilled through it's head, and an A4 (slightly larger than the U.S. letter format) piece of laminated card with instructions in 25 languages I give it about 500 miles, personally - though I hope she at least makes it outta the U.K ! Hey, you asked. As hard as I might be, I still seem to come across those little butterfly TBs that just keep on floating through caches. If I could figure out why I would put it in a bottle and sell it for a dollar apiece. Sometimes it's a hard world for small things, but my opinion if you want a bug to last and say you want it to visit all the art museums in the world, make it the ugliest dang thing you can find. Oh, and currently I only have three language translations on my bug. Quote Link to comment
MrCJDL
Ha, sorry should have used the *slight sarcasm* tag... I did ask, and I wasn't being cheeky/rude... once I'd read the 'longevity' post, amongst others, i realised that this is indeed likely to go missing. But, time will tell ! Making it fugly also makes sense, who would want to steal a fugly thing ? Also, attaching the (small) laminated card makes sense too... it seems that a lot of TBs go missing because new players don't REALLY know what to do with them... what languages, out of interest ? +BlueDeuce
Nah, we're cool. My 'hey you asked' needed the slight sarcasm tag as well. What languages? English, French and German. All provided by a native speaker. Quote Link to comment

sheltiedogshowlover
If this were a thread in the geocoin forum there would have been a "cointest" for this thread. Perhaps you should offer a travel tag for the person who guesses how many miles it will travel before being muggled! Quote Link to comment
zsdeng15014
I think 541 miles, 118 yards, 1 foot and 5.9836582983692275629248658392887878424607531356780909654322457928 inches... that is, before it gets lost. Then it is found and travels 217 miles, 1492 yards, 2 feet and 2.51984651986451986451 inches. Quote Link to comment
amberm145
You've already beat me. My first TB, which I assumed the tag would be enough to figure it out (I did!), not so cute, got nicked from it's very first cache. I even went back to the cache, got the name of the user after me and emailed them. Nadda. Quote Link to comment

amberm145
Yeah, exactly my thoughts. I even put it in a "bug hotel". [] Quote Link to comment
