+Harry Dolphin Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 DK6825 Heading down the Great River Road from Winona, Minnesota to Dubuque, Iowa. Pull off at a pull off (My sister was driving. She needed to see the view of the Mississippi. Great spot! If we'd taken a photo of the sign, it would have made a great EarthCache! Oh, well.) Rebuilding islands in the Mississippi. There is a bald eagle sitting on a log here!) But, anywho, what I see is the becnhmark!!! Using Scaredycat, I've identified it as DK6825. Will log on NGS when I get the chance. Quote
+BasicPoke Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 That's a great find. Feels like finding treasure doesn't it. Looks like they packed marmalade around it. BasicPoke Quote
+BasicPoke Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 I would like to encourage you, and everyone else, that when you find a benchmark that is not in geocaching.com's 10-year-old NGS benchmark database, please create a waymark for it so others can find it. BasicPoke Quote

BasicPoke I think Waymarking is a complete waste! I do have one benchmark listed there (Centr of Population for New York), and it has one find on it! Wow! Quote
