Traveling to Washington DC?

If you're traveling to Washington DC via Dulles International Airport (IAD), and have a layover or just some time here, there's a shuttle that will take you from the airport to the Udvar Hazy Annex of the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum. The shuttle costs only .50 (yes, fifty cents). Follow signs to Ground Transportation, Door 2-E. The Annex is FANTASTIC.

Now -- wear your tennis shoes and call yourself an intrepid explorer for TB's, because across the highway from the Udvar-Hazy Center is a road leading to Sully Historic Site. You don't have to go all the way to the Historic Site (unless you're into 18th century farmhouses). ON THAT ROAD is the TB hotel.

Yes, it's a bit of a hike but it is definitely DOABLE. Be sure to look at Google Earth images of the area before you come. Bring some TB's from your last port of call and pick up some that want to travel to your home. I know there's at least one in there waiting to go to Australia!

The Dulles TB Hotel is GC2H4YA. Unfortunately, it's a premium members only one. On the other hand, what's $30 per year to support geocaching.com?
