+CaverScott
FTF Geocache Hunt Yields Marriage Proposal The Players: Cacher1984 (Recipient) Tobey (Proposer) Anna McVey (Recipient Buddy and Photographer) CaverScott (Driver, Videographer, and Planner) HammerMan (Geocache Placement) MountainMan (Geocache Reviewer) The Challenge: Get a cache in place that can be approved at least a week before the proposal. Get it reviewed but not published. Work with MountainMan so that it can be published at the right time. Orchestrate a date that Cacher1984 will go caching and Tobey has a day off. Toby and Cacher1984 live in the Florence area. Caver lives in Birmingham area. The Plan: Caver and Hammer plant a cache previously that is reviewed by MountainMan and ready to publish. Tobey creates a special Will You? logbook telling Cacher1984 why he wants to marry her that is personalized with photos. Cacher1984 goes on an all-day cache run with CaverScott. Tobey arrives early, drops the special logbook in the cache, and waits for his intended to arrive. At the end of the day, while driving back to the meeting spot, a cache publishes by the name Will You? Cacher1984 uses the iPhone to get the coordinates in order to snag an FTF. We drive over to the spot and park about 50 feet away. Cacher1984 finds the cache, opens the log book, and gets a slightly confused look on her face, but still continues reading. Tobey shows up behind her on bended knee with the ring, just waiting for her to finish and look up. When Cacher1984 finishes reading, she turns around with a huge smile on her face and accepts! And then they lived happily ever after. The End. (or maybe the beginning!) +wimseyguy
Very nice plot. You do plan to adopt that cache over to the happy couple? Quote Link to comment
+CaverScott
Very nice plot. You do plan to adopt that cache over to the happy couple? I could. They are much closer than me. The proposer drove 45 minutes while I had drvin 1.5 hours. A nearby store was a good spot to meet for spending the day geocaching in the Huntsville, AL suburbs. (We were here a couple of weeks ago and found an appropriate spot to hide the cache.) Quote Link to comment

+The Blorenges
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwh! That's a really big "Awwwh" from me. "There's lovely", as they say here in Wales. Many congratulations to both and "well done" on the timing and co-ordination to all involved. MrsB Edited June 19, 2011 by The Blorenges Quote Link to comment
