+eusty
Were off to Weymouth next week, not strictly a caching holiday...but we plan to do plenty of it. Mrs E grew up on Portland so knows the area well, so are there any 'not to be missed' caches about? I've done a PQ within 30 miles, but haven't planned anything specific. There are quite a few Earth caches so we will do them of course..but what else? We like trails and there are few around there but we are open to offers!! Quote Link to comment
+speakers-corner
A bit off topic, but where on Portland. I used to live in Wakeham. Hood view (GCG9AW) is a good Cache. The ones at the "Bill" are also good. Hopefully the weather is good when you are there. Quote Link to comment

Gosh - My Gran lived on Portland, many years back, Ventnor Road (Down the big hill!) she was the Midwife..and with my Grandad used to run a Fruit and veg shop in Fortuneswell. I must get back and do some caching, it's been ages.... Quote Link to comment
+Gralorn
Born in Wyke, first house we owned was on Portland, brother still has hut out at the Bill. Some lovely caches around, must say that for an evening walk caching, is to go from Ferry bridge along the Fleet to the Moonfleet Church, beautiful and a nice handful of caches as well. We often stay at east Fleet caravan park, some nice circular walks from there as well! Quote Link to comment
+thehoomer
'Out on a Limb' GC1RF7J (7 favs) is worth doing. Not sure what you are hoping for but its certainly a worthy placement and an interesting spot. Have fun. Quote Link to comment

+Stuey
I can recommend (T)out and About which is a multi which takes you to Tout Quarry, which is a fairly fascinating place if you like stone carvings. Check out the gallery page. Also Hood View. Quote Link to comment

You could try emailing the CO to see if it could be replaced before your trip? Failing that, you could try posting a request note on the page. Or both? We have done this several times before a caching trip and invariably, our fellow cachers have come up trumps . Good luck. Quote Link to comment
