+KNAPAHOLIC
So, long story short, one of my 5/5's sits about 5-6 feet underwater in a local creek. During our recent heavy rains, a sandbar was deposited in that particular swimming hole. To my best knowledge, the cache now sits under about three feet of sand, and two feet of water. Since it's a five five, do I just let it as is? You need a shovel, but nature buried it, not me. I kinda regard it as being similiar to snow.. Thoughts? Quote Link to comment
+Team GPSaxophone
You should probably unbury it so no one gets the wrong idea about why it's a 5/5. Quote Link to comment
mtbikernate
yeah, I'd unbury it and put it back in a place where it's a similar depth underwater, adjusting the coordinates as necessary. it's kinda like a big tree falling onto a cache...except you can possibly recover this one. Quote Link to comment
Night_Hiker
I've had the same problem with like 3... i disabled the ones im positive are under water but not the ones i think are just unreachable. Your best bet is to disable it until ur sure that its ok. Quote Link to comment

+StarBrand
Yup - get it up out of the sand and move if necessary. Quote Link to comment
+SwineFlew
Archived the cache and place a new one. Unbury a cache will do more damage to the fishes down river. Quote Link to comment

+KNAPAHOLIC
It had plenty last night, when stigloc and I put about a ton of sand downstream...lol. The cache is more or less a couple feet under sand at this point. Recovery efforts are ongoing. Anyone who gets it before me is allowed to claim a new FTF, and may be eligible to adopt the cache.. The cache has 7 finds, why can't the next person to find it claim FTFCADBS (First to Find Cache After Destroyed By Sand?)?????!?!?!!!??? Quote Link to comment

How refreshing. A caring, responsible cache owner. Thank you! Quote Link to comment
