Find rest areas on Oregon

I just got an Oregon 450 and loaded in CN NA NT and I can't find rest areas on it. On my old 76CSx you could go Find>Exits>Menu>Select Category>Rest Areas and they came up. How/can you do this on an Oregon?

I don't have rest areas listed under auto services on my unit, are you using an Oregon? I am running software 4.40 and firmware 4.52 on my Oregon 450. I don't know if an update would make a difference, even so, I do not think there are any non beta updates.

It's there for me. Oregon 450 w/ CN NT NA 2011.40 and TopoCan v4, I am not sure which map set it is pulling the POI's from though (even with all maps disabled, I can still search POI's). In fact I have a "Rest Area or Tourist Inf" and a "Rest Area" sub menu.

My CN NA NT is 2009. This is the same map I used with my 76CSx and it would show rest areas. Savant9, what software versions are you using?

I believe the 76 had exits & exit services in the firmware

 

You can download them at poi factory and install them as custom POIs

For reference, for those on older versions of City Navigator, I'm running CNNA 2008 (purchased Feb/Mar 2008 for my Colorado 400t):

 

Auto Services > Select Category > Rest Area/Tourist Info

 

Also of possible interest, depending on why you're looking for a Rest Area:

 

Auto Services > Select Category > Truck Stop

I just did a download for the new software and firmware updates (4.50 & 5.00) and I still do not have the rest area catagory eg. Where to, auto services, rest areas

 

I did find two other ways to get rest areas:

Where to > All POI's > ABC > type Rest Area > check mark

or

Where to > Auto Services > All Categories > ABC > type Rest Area > check mark

My bet is because you have an old and NON NT version of City Navigator.

Check my post a couple above yours...I'm on a non-NT version of City Navigator (although I am on a Colorado, rather than an Oregon).
