+SoggyFroggy
I am in the market for an inexpensive GPS that will help me get started. The amount I'm willing to spend depends on the device. Thank you Quote Link to comment

+DadSydKy
I purchased a Garmin ETrex H at WalMart for about $100. No fancy bells, nothing spectacular...we've just plugged the coordinates in, made some notes, and gone. It's been a success and if you decide it's not for you, you can sell it and not lose much money. All is all it's been great! Quote Link to comment
+Chrysalides
Avoid the eTrex H - it only has serial cable, and the cable is more expensive than a USB cable. A special USB -> serial -> Garmin cable is available for about $10 though. Top 3 inexpensive GPSr : 1. Garmin eTrex Venture HC (no paperless, color) ~$120 2. Garmin eTrex Legend H (no paperless, no color) ~ $120 3. Magellan eXplorist GC (paperless, no ability to add more maps) ~$150 Get them used to save some money. Alternatively, get a used Oregon 300 or Dakota 10/20. The Oregon 300 is discontinued but still more than adequate for paperless geocaching. Quote Link to comment
