+SurveyContactTeam Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 As delighted as I was to discover a pretty little geocoin in a cache I visited while on vacation, I was even more delighted to learn that I had picked up a coin that had been lost for nearly a year (ref# TB1VH7Z). It had been hidden really well (but not inappropriately-- it was the nature of the cache) in the cache it had last been dropped into, which is why it had gone unnoticed and eventually marked as missing. I see so many TBs and GCs listed as missing that it's sure nice to be able to share a story of a missing one finally found and back in circulation. Hooray! Quote
+Fianccetto Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 That's good to know. We have occasionally found a TB in a cache which a previous finder has said 'no trackables here' and I've also missed TBs in a cache which a subsequent finder collects or discovers. If you're busy trying not to get muggled, signing the log book without detection is tricky enough some places. There isn't always time to thoroughly search the cache container before the next set of muggles comes into view and in bad weather or bad light it is easy to miss something. I hold out hope for our missing trackables, they must be out there somewhere! Quote
+avroair Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Cool! We have a coin thief in the Seattle area who has an estimated 6,000 bugs and coins... he's slowly beginning to release them so hopefully there will be some bugs that were thought missing going back into circulation. Quote
+Crystalphyre Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 I hope mine turns up. It was only moved once and placed Jan 9th/2011 Then the cache was in some disrepair though it was dry and wrapped in plastic wrap, Cache is now out of service. a few people found it but made no mention of my geocoin, it is really disheartening I contacted the cache owner to see if it was there when he removed it but he didn't answer, I am now going to contact some of the people who found it to see if they remember seeing it, not that it will help much I'm sure. Am I over reacting? or is this how it normally goes. This is my coin Traveling Gecko Quote

Wanna know something Mark. That certain fella only owns a few coins, I tracked one down, which had not been picked up since 2007. I was able to get in touch with that cacher and she still had it and mailed me his coin. So I'm wondering if I can work out a trade for his coin and the coins he has, hehe. On his coin, it says, "don't keep me!" Quote
