I recently purchased an Etrex H, which has a different cable output than my previous etrex hcx I owned. I'm trying to figure out the name of the cable I'd need.

That looks like the old style "serial" connector. They are available from Garmin, on the auction sites, or you can make your own with parts from pfranc.com.

The one on ebay Don_J linked to is also the one I bought and also from the same seller. It works perfect. I recommend staying away from the serial cables. At this point it is a legacy connection most computers don't even have any longer. Even if you get a serial to USB adapter I have heard horror stories of people trying to get them to work. Go with the one on ebay and you will be super happy I promise.

There is a way to make one yourself - there isn't too much experience needed. Just google 'etrex datenkabel' - you will find the site. It's available in english too!
