+SaintSteven Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 It may be obvious and also have been covered elsewhere. As a newbie I can't seem to find what I want which is: What are the advantages of making a cache available only to Premium Members? Any help would be appreciated. Quote
+Bear and Ragged Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Stops the phone users downloading the free app and pinching it! It is said that Premium Members take more care when they find and re-hide the cache... The cache will likely get fewer visits, so may be 'in better condition' than a Non-Premium Member cache. Quote
+StarBrand Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Because you have to pay to see the coordinates - some users believe the cache will stand a better chance of survival long term. Sometimes they are placed as a 'reward' for others users that have paid. Quote
+Coldgears Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 In the Philadelphia area, many people switched to PMO after having there caches "muggled". Somebody wasn't happy with geocaching and got the free coordinates and went on a rampage. As soon as every switched to PMO that changed. Quote
sdarken Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 As a cache owner, there's an audit log of everyone who has viewed your PMO cache. Some people (particularly puzzle owners) like to see who might be working on their puzzle. Quote
+KristenSh Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Ooh, I didn't know about the log ... how would I access that? Quote
+Bear and Ragged Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 (edited) Ooh, I didn't know about the log ... how would I access that? On the cache page under the D/T ratings you will see: This is a Premium Member Only cache. Read the audit log (see who viewed your cache) What you will see is Last Visit /First Visit /User /#Times 05/12/2011 /12:14 09/28/2009 /Bear and Ragged /37 of those who have visited. +SaintSteven Posted May 13, 2011 Author Posted May 13, 2011 A supplementary question if I may: is it possible make a Premium cache a non- premium one? This assumes that I am the person who placed the cache. Thank you in advance. Quote
