Travel bug Id Numbers

Recommended Posts

I'd like to put the travel bug ID in the cache description so that a visitor can track the bug that originally started in the cache. I've been told its a bad idea because some might log the travel bug as if they picked it up even though they have never visited the cache. I have noticed the bug also has an ID that contains numbers and letters. Is it possible to log the bug using this ID number? If not, it would be the solution to my problem.

You can search for and watch bugs by their name, you don't need the number. The number is just for logging the bugs, do put it out in open circulation. Just mention the name of the bug in your log for the cache

I'm lost. I've gone to find myself. If I should happen to get back before I return, please ask me to wait.

But, what you can do is either just include the name like IV suggests, or better yet, why not include a simple link to the travel bug page. I like to include links to all the travel bugs that visit my caches. Here is an example: Rocket Man's 9/11 Cache.

If you use the TB number (Like TB448F for "Professor Froggums") that would work on the page. You can actually enter that into the search box to get to the bug too.

So you have a Travel Bug Number and a Travel Bug Serial Number.

The serial, is on the tag and you don't display that but the other calls up the URL?

I never really gave this any thought, but that does solve the problem posted.

Wherever you go there you are.
