CAKoala Posted July 15, 2002 Posted July 15, 2002 Northern, Central and Southern would be great. When I go to California in any of functions, I get OVERWELMED with the number of caches, and of course only a third of them are anywhere close to me.
+MissJenn Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 Was this tongue-in-cheek? Or serious? ----- You must be present to win. [This message was edited by MissJenn on July 16, 2002 at 10:56 AM.]
+Lil Devil Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 I agree with CAKoala's suggestion. While we can't get our elected officials to split the state in two (or three), it should be no problem to split it here on Geocaching.com. And yes, I'm serious. Lil Devil
+sbell111 Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 Can you make Rhode Island larger while your at it? (And New Jersey closer, but that's a different thread)
iryshe Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 Do a search from origin, like zipcode, areacode, or lat/lon to get a better list. At this point the California query is too large to be of much use. Jeremy Irish Groundspeak - The Language of Location
+Markwell Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 ...unless you want to see the newest placed caches. Those will show up at the top of a list of California caches. Markwell Chicago Geocachers

+mrp Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 Use Buxley's Maps: They've got a list of newest caches for California and for many smaller areas like the SF Bay Area, Los Angeles, and even the Northcoast area. -- Mitch
+Just a Short Walk Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 I like it the way it is!!!! Besides someday it's gunna fall off into the ocean and it will be smaller state! At least thats what other keept saying in the 70's quote:Originally posted by CAKoala:Northern, Central and Southern would be great. If You plant a cache they will come.....
CAKoala Posted July 19, 2002 Author Posted July 19, 2002 Well, first off I am serious. Drilling in from the CA map is a pain. I guess I need a Zip Code directory of the Angeles Crest Forest (do squirels get mail?). Its not just the lookup by map that gets me, other features on the site will list every cache in CA. I like the site (other than its Microsoft base) but would like to see a feature that always gave me information and views concentrated to my area. Keith PS... Its easy to make Rhode Island Bigger, just follow what Hong Kong, and Japan does...
lizardbuttsfamily Posted July 21, 2002 Posted July 21, 2002 I like CaKoala's suggestion. Mitch thanks for the info on Buxley's map site.
