+Berta Nick Zoey
Ok, I have the Geocaching app on a Droid phone. If I get a different phone, will I have to buy the app again. The phone I have does not have any way of transferring apps between phones. Quote Link to comment
+mpilchfamily
Pretty much yes. Don't have an android phone so i don't know how the market place works. But if it keeps track of what apps you have purchased then it should allow you to move the apps over to a new android based phone. I know you can do that with the iPhone and iPod Touch. +vincenzosi
You will not need to repurchase your apps if you get another Android phone. Go into the market, click Downloads, and all your downloads should be waiting for you ready to download again. Easy peasy :-) Quote Link to comment
+Walts Hunting
Ill buy that. I got a XOOM and it looks like all appropriate programs came over. Not sure why some didn't and of course scaling issues made some them difficult to use Quote Link to comment

robertlipe
Android market purchases are tied to the email address of the primary account of the device. So if you buy another phone and use the same gmail (it's actually a little more than that, but that's the common case) address, your purchases will be preserved and honored. If you buy another phone and use your aol or work address, it doesn't know that you're the same person and your license doesn't transfer. I recently did a factory reset on my Droid. (gulp) Logged back in. It noticed that everything I'd ever downloaded from Android Market (including purchased apps) was missing and pulled them down again. Apps pulled from third party sources had to be manually re-installed. Another reason to use the Android Market, IMO. Quote Link to comment
