mdweldor
Hi all, just wanted to let everyone know, that from April 25- May 31 2011 it is turkey hunting season in the woods- be careful out there Quote Link to comment
Keystone
Since hunting seasons vary from place to place, I am moving this thread from the Geocaching Topics forum to the Canada forum (based on the OP's cache finds). Quote Link to comment
+SooMukwas
I can see me getting mistaken for a bear, but if I get shot out in the woods because some gun-toting, carnivore thinks I'm a turkey........ Quote Link to comment
mdweldor
FYI I am one of those gun-toting, carnivores you speak of, when someone shoots at a turkey, it is sometimes difficult to see whats beyond your target, even though most of us are trained and calm enough to be careful, there are those out there that are not. If you wear hunter orange or a least make your self visible it keeps everyone happy and safe , just trying to warn people of the possible danger k.take care Quote Link to comment
+Juicepig
did you post this in the hunting forums too? .. If a mistake is going to be made, chances are it will be their fault. Few geocachers wear convincing turkey suits Quote Link to comment

+SooMukwas
One of the most basic rules in firearms training and safety: Be sure of your target and what is beyond it. Besides being absolutely sure of what you are shooting at....if you cannot see behind your target, it is a definite no-no to even think about skinning that smoke wagon and seeing what happens. +BluesHiker
Well, that explains it. We were at a cache in Mississippi a few weeks ago, heard a gunshot, then the back window of the cache mobile shattered. We got out of there quick. Someone told us later that it was turkey season.
